Master of Finance Learning Goals and Objectives
1. The students will be proficient in core finance knowledge. They will be able to:
- Analyze an organization’s financial statements and compare to industry and key competitors
- Analyze and profile financial data and model uncertainties
- Apply principles of valuation in corporate finance
- Demonstrate a knowledge of the workings of financial markets and analyze factors affecting price determination in financial markets
- Demonstrate an understanding of financial derivative markets and instruments
2. The students will understand the impact of global influences on financial decision-making. They will be able to
- Demonstrate a knowledge of global financial and foreign exchange markets, and their impact on multinational enterprises
3. The students will demonstrate enhanced analytical and critical thinking skills. They will be able to
- Apply quantitative and analytical knowledge to financial analysis
- Identify financial risk exposure and manage financial risks with appropriate financial derivative instruments
4. The students will be effective financial decision makers. They will be able to:
- Make strategic financial decisions enhancing and creating value for a firm such as through capital investment under uncertainty
- Recognize and resolve ethical issues in financial decision making
5. The students will be effective communicators in finance. They will be able to:
- Deliver an effective presentation
- Prepare a written report on financial issues
