The Chester County Workforce Investment Board (WIB) presents "Job Search and You," a program designed to serve people who are currently, or may soon be, in career transition. This program will provide career assistance through the Managing Your Career Transition conferences provided by Penn State Great Valley's Office of Continuing Professional Education.

Early Morning Session:
Presentation by Patrick Bokovitz, director of the Chester County Department of Community Development, Chester County Workforce Investment Board on services available through Chester County. Presentations will also be made by Service Providers of services available to attendees through this conference. Services are free, on a first-come, first-served basis to attendees who meet eligibility requirements (see below).

Mid-morning Session:

A panel of Human Resource professionals will discuss their insights on the job search process including résumé preparation, the job interview process, and other related topics.


8:00–8:30 a.m. Registration, networking. Continental breakfast will be provided.
8:30 a.m.–noon Presentations
Noon–1:00 p.m. Networking opportunities with Workforce Investment Board; PA CareerLink; and Service Providers

Attendance is free to all those who meet the eligibility requirements. Registration is required.

Conference/Workshop Participation Criteria

  • Southeastern Pennsylvania resident* for minimum of one year
    *Priority will be given to Chester County Residents
  • Unemployed
  • Underemployed (currently working in a position with income substantially below previous full-time employment) 
  • Registered with CWDS (PA CareerLink)
  • Prior full-time employment with an income above $42,000
  • Associate degree or higher education level

*Free services from providers are available on a first-come, first-served basis to Chester County residents who meet the above criteria.
