Master of Business Administration with an option in Management of Information Technology

The MBA with an option in Management of Information Technology expands your understanding of the business value and strategic importance of information technology. The program blends business and technical competencies to help align organizations’ IT with business strategies.

The Management of Information Technology option is designed for IT professionals who wish to hone their management and leadership skills, and other business professionals who want to move into IT management. Middle managers in the IT field may find this MBA particularly helpful in advancing their careers.

Courses are offered in 7-week sessions. Classes meet two evenings a week in a face-to-face format.  A blended format with an online component is also available during the week or on Saturdays, giving you added convenience and flexibility.  Classes are located conveniently on our Malvern campus near Philadelphia. There are six 7-week sessions each academic year. You may begin at the start of any session.  You can expect to complete your degree in 2-3 years going part-time, or 12-18 months if going full-time.

Admission requirements

Applicants should:

  • Hold a bachelor's degree from a U.S. regionally accredited institution or a postsecondary degree that is equivalent to a U.S. baccalaureate degree earned from an officially recognized degree-granting international institution.
  • Have a working knowledge of statistics and accounting;
  • Submit all necessary forms, documentation, and fees;
  • Have at least three years work experience.

Degree requirements

Students should meet preprogram requirements in quantitative and communication skills via previous course work or take up to 6 credits of pre-program requirements.  The MBA with an option in  Management of Information Technology requires up to 45 credits. Students may be exempt from up to 15 credits from the MBA core courses through previous academic preparation. 

Management Faculty 

The Management faculty represents a mix of academic scholars and business professionals. The full-time professors all hold doctoral degrees and have professional experience in corporations, nonprofits, or as entrepreneurs. Adjunct professors from corporate and entrepreneurial ventures supplement fundamental management theories with current marketplace experience.
