COMPUTER USE PREPARATION FORM

 

This form is based on years of experience delivering quality computing services to our clients and customers.
Please consider the questions carefully. If you would like, your Penn State Great Valley Conference Center representative
will put you in touch with a computing consultant to answer any questions.

All computer classrooms are Internet ready.  However, is Internet access required for your training objectives?

 

Note: Our computer environment does not provide any local administration privileges.
Please make sure your software can run with Windows XP user permission.

 

  

  2.  

Our computers have standard Windows-based software installed.
Please be specific regarding what software applications and version are necessary for your training.

 

 

 

 

    3.  

For each application listed in Question 2, which is not Office 2007, is the software Web-based?

 

If yes, does it require a plug-in?

 

If yes, what is the preferred Internet browser?

Are any of the applications listed in Question 2 client-server?

 

If yes, do you have the correct authentication setup for the application to work?

Are any of your specially installed software applications a trial version or a full version?

For obvious network security reasons, Penn State Great Valley operates a firewall.
Does your application need any firewall ports opened?

 

Note: Our firewall allows all outgoing connections only.
If a firewall is involved, please make sure it is available and open on your servers.

Testing is fundamental to ensuring we meet your expectations.
We prefer that clients inspect the room and test the setup at least five days prior to their event.
If the client cannot test this themselves, our computer consultants can conduct a test based on client requirements.
