Groovy and Grails  (Check back for future offering dates.)

Groovy is a dynamic language for the Java Platform. It builds upon the strengths of Java and makes dynamic programming features available to Java developers with almost-zero learning curve.  Groovy helps to increase developer productivity by greatly reducing the amount of written code.  In addition, it compiles straight to Java bytecode, so you can use it anywhere you can use Java. Grails is an open source web application platform that helps development teams quickly develop full-featured websites using an agile methodology.

Learn Groovy and be productive developing console applications, Swing applications, and utility scripts.  Learn  Grails and leverage a framework that cuts through the complexity of specialized technologies like database schema design, web UI stacks, and configuration and deployment complexity.

This is a hands-on course is held in one of our computer classrooms. Students will complete a series of instructor- led exercises throughout the course.
